NATIONAL DATA RECOVER CENTRE AT JIPMER PUDUCHERRY

“JIPMER is National Data Recovery Centre (NDRC) for Telemedicine” In view of constant efforts towards achieving better patient care through Telemedicine, Ministry of Health and family welfare (MoH&FW), Government of India declared JIPMER as National Data Recovery Centre (NDRC) for
Telemedicine. In 2013, Ministry of Health and family welfare (MoH&FW), Government of India has already declared JIPMER as Regional Resource Centre (RRC) for Telemedicine for Medical Colleges of South India (Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamilnadu, Puducherry and Telangana). In this regard, under the Chairmanship of Prof. Dr. S.C. Parija, Director, JIPMER a high level meeting was conducted, meeting was attended by MoH&FW deputed RAILTEL Engineer Mr.Micheal, Dr. Balachander, Medical Supdt., Dr. G.K. Pal, JIPMER Project Consultant, Dr. Ravikumar Chitoria, Nodal officer-JIPMER for telemedicine, HIS Officer In-Charge Dr. Anita Rustagi, and HIS Staff Mr. Satheeshkumar, Telemedcine staff Mr. Mohamed Ishaq. Inspection was done by RAILTEL engineer who inspected the NKN (National Knowledge Centre) Router, available space and infrastructure in
JIPMER. Dr. S. C. Parija, Director, JIPMER emphasised that JIPMER is fully equipped with infrastructure and ready to develop National Data Recovery Centre. He added that NDRC is to recover Country’s Data related to Telemedicine from JIPMER in the event of loss of Telemedicine Data. The project will be supported by the MoH&FW, GOI. Among all the Institutes JIPMER has been selected by MoH&FW.
